What a humble, wonderful man! I listened to his comments twice so that his ideas could better penetrate. I am particularly drawn to his sense of preaching as involving listening to how the Word of God is being revealed in the experience of the people to whom one preaches. It's such a dynamic idea and indicates a mutuality I hadn't thought of in the act of preaching. Thank you so much, dear Moniales, for posting this and sharing more of the Dominican charism with non-Dominicans like me. Very enriching!!
What I felt was missing from this Master General's remarks was the mention of the other members of the Dominican Family, the Nuns, the Sisters, and the laity. All his references were to the friars and the men. Well, he did admit he has to learn more about his role.

He's probably had little contact with the nuns...but he will! :-)
