Like Barbara I was wondering why the professed aren't able to go the novitiate area? Do they "mix" with the professed sisters at other times? Are the novices able to go to the professed area? And what is the novitiate area? Where the novices live? I'm just curious about the how comes :-)

I am curious. Why is the novitiate area kept so separate from the rest of the community? I am sure there is good, sensible reason, but you do mix at prayer, work, and recreation.
